The Society for Aristotelian Studies was founded in 1974 for the purpose of promoting "Friendship in the pursuit of wisdom". The Society is incorporated in the State of New Hampshire (USA) and is registered with the US Government as a non-profit cultural society.
Its foundation is the work of Aristotle, along with those who preceeded and prepared him, and those faithful discplines who followed him throughout the centuries. Principal among the former were the great Pre-Socratic thinkers and Plato, and among the latter, Artistotle's greatest and most faithful disciple, St. Thomas Aquinas.
There is a public side of our site, where you will find a large number of diverse philosophical texts, and there is also a member's side with much more content, including news of activities, links, and discussion groups. Some, at least, of those who are reading and downloading copious quantities of our publicly-available material, and who are not yet members of the Society, may feel a tad guilty about the free ride. Settle the matter now by joining us and thus not only helping yourself, but also promoting the Aristotelian tradition.
